A huge thank you to Vanderhoof Hardware for donating their time and supplies to make this year’s Ag Day veggie racing the best one yet! We are already looking forward to the next Ag Day! When you are done playing with your “race cars” this fall bring your wheels and axles back to Vanderhoof Hardware and they will save them to be used again next year!

The farms of Concord would like to thank everyone for coming out to celebrate Concord agriculture with us last weekend! It was great to share the day with all the organizations that participated! A special thanks to the Town of Concord, the Concord Light Department, the Concord Police Department, Minuteman Media, Stone Soup Dinner, Reinhard Goethert, Bill Crosby and Crosby Design, Vanderhoof Hardware, Michael Goodwin, the Concord Library, the Concord Conservatory of Music, our Minuteman High School volunteers, and all our other amazing hard working volunteers for making this event possible!

Concord Ag Day is a once a year farmers’ market

Concord Ag Day is a once a year farmers’ market celebrating local agriculture organized by the Concord Agriculture Committee to showcase Concord farms and local produce. This unique market showcases the bounty of Concord’s many farm businesses at the height of the growing season. Ag Day 2022 is September 10th from 10am-2pm!

To celebrate Ag Day the Concord Free Public Library in partnership with Concord Conservatory of Music is holding a free outdoor concert on the library lawn on also on September 10th from 11am-1pm!

It will be the 17th Annual Concord Ag Day Farmers’ Market this year!Ag Day 2022 will feature your favorite Concord farmers selling their bounty, as well as the return of the famous Veggie Race Track this year sponsored by Vanderhoof Hardware! In addition, several Concord nonprofits will be there with information on a variety of environmental and ‘ag’ related topics. Musical entertainment provided by Concord’s own @goodwintunes. Come experience what Concord’s land can produce!

Mark your calendars! The annual Concord Ag Day Farmers’ market is Saturday, September 10th from 10am-2pm on Main Street in Concord Center!

The market will feature farms selling their Concord-grown produce, flowers, eggs and meat, local non-profits tabling to connect with the community, and of course veggie car decorating and racing!

The final result will be the May video in a lineup of monthly videos, each filmed at a different farm, highlighting Concord farmers’ work throughout the season. The February video filmed @verrillfarm and March filmed @hutchins_farm are now available to watch on concordagday.com (the link is in our bio). We hope you enjoy!

Liza and Joe will be representing the Ag Committee at the Cooler Concord Climate Festival today from 10am-2pm! Stop by to chat, take a fun farm quiz and pick up recipes for early spring crops! They will also be handing out our Guide to Concord Farms - perfect timing as farms around town are starting to open up for the season! Hope to see you there!

Thanks to everyone who came out- blankets, hats and all- for the Concord Farm Film Night last night! The Verrill family (Steve, Joan, Jen, and Chloe) were the ultimate hosts with popcorn, heaters, and great farm stories from their many years of farming together. The first video we watched, Concord Farms Open for the Season 2021, is available now on the Town of Concord website’s Ag Committee page: https://concordma.gov/959/Agriculture-Committee. The 2022 videos will be available soon and we have more to come as Minuteman Media is planning to film a short piece at a different Concord farm each month until Ag Day September 10th!

Getting all set up for farm film night at the Verrill Farm tent! We have popcorn, heaters, chairs, and fun people. Films start at 7:15 come join us!

We did a test run of projecting films onto the tent wall of @verrillfarm in anticipation of our Concord Farms Film Screening next week. Thanks to the equipment and work of the farmers of @thewaldenwoodsproject we are ready! We look forward to seeing you Thursday April 28th at 7:15pm at the Verrill Farm tent! We will be showing a few short films by Minuteman Media about Concord Farms. Bring along your favorite lawn chair and warm clothes/blankets to get comfy under the tent and enjoy the popcorn 🍿 provided by Verrill Farm while you watch! We will have a farmer Q & A after the viewing. We hope to see you there!

Bring a lawn chair and blankets and enjoy some popcorn courtesy of Verrill Farm! We will screening a series of short vignettes of Concord Farms filmed by Minuteman Media in 2021 and 2022. The event is free and open to the public. We hope to see there!
